SH. PIYUSH GUPTA ( MEMBER ) Bar Council of Delhi
I, Piyush Gupta, an Advocate joined this noble profession in the year 2008 and since then I sincerely made various efforts for the welfare of the legal fraternity. I am grand-son of Late Dr. Dhan Prakash Gupta, who joined this noble profession in 1961 and he was a prominent advocate of Delhi. He was the Member Bar Council of Delhi and was also the Chairman of Disciplinary and Enrolment Committee. He was also famous for providing biggest Library through his office to the young lawyers who used to often visit his office which was open to all. I have been Elected Member Bar Council of Delhi in 2018 and then became youngest Co-Chairman, BCD. In May 2021, I was appointed as Hony. Secretary, Bar Council of Delhi for a short period till July 2021. During the entire tenure I tried my best and taken all initiative for betterment of legal fraternity including few very important steps taken during COVID First and Second Wave wherein Bar Council of Delhi has provided following type of assistance to the advocates; 1. Financial assistance of Rs.5000 each to around 18,300 advocates. 2. 15,000/- each to around 5000 advocates who got infected with Corona and were Home Quarantine. 3. 50,000/- each to around 70 advocates who were hospitalised due to Covid-19. 4. Ration kits to 3000 advocates and further tie up with Patanjali wherein prepaid groceries card worth Rs.2000/- each were provided to around 10,000 advocates. 5. 110 Oxygen cylinders have been purchased which is being regularly circulated between lawyers who were in need of the same.
