Minutes of Indigent & Disabled Lawyers Committee meeting of Bar Council of Delhi

Minutes of the meeting of Indigent & Disabled Lawyers Committee dated 28.05.2019 held in the office of the Council at 2/6, Sirifort Institutional Area, Khelgaon Marg, New Delhi-110049.

The following Hon’ble Members are present :

The applications put up before the Indigent & Disabled Lawyers Committee today were considered by the Committee. The applicants present were heard, and their respective applications were perused.  Looking into the facts and circumstances pertaining to individual applicants, appropriate financial aid was sanctioned to them, the details are as follows:

 

1Ms. Manju Singh

Wd/ of Late Sh. Satyendra Kumar, Advocate (D/109/2012)

 

The applicant appeared before the Committee. Application perused. Husband of the applicant stated to be have died of cancer in March, 2019. Applicant has a son, who is doing LLB II year. Looking into the facts and circumstances of the applicant, a sum of Rs.5,000/- per month for a period of three years was sanctioned to her.  She undertakes not to seek any further extension of the financial aid sanctioned to her.  Her application was disposed off accordingly.

2Ms. Shweta Nigam

Wd/ of Late Sh. Manish Nigam, Advocate (D/2144/2015)

 

The application of Ms. Shweta Nigam was perused. Application perused. Members are of the view that a sum of Rs.5,000/- per month be sanctioned to her for a period of one year.

3Ms. Pinki

Wd/ of Late Sh. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Advocate (D/1870/2013)

 

The application of Ms. Pinki was perused. After looking into the facts and circumstances, Members are of the view that a sum of Rs.5,000/- per month be sanctioned to her for a period of two years.

4Ms. Shilpi Gupta

Wd/ of Late Sh. Arun Gupta, Advocate (D/1110/2012)

 

The applicant was present. Heard. Application perused. Members are of the view that a sum of Rs.5,000/- per month be sanctioned to her for a period of two years.

5Ms. Shakila Begum

Wd/ of Late Sh. Badrul Hasan Ansari, Advocate (D/1032-A/1993)

 

The applicant was present. Heard. Application perused. Looking into the facts and circumstances, Members are of the view that a sum of Rs.4,000/- per month be sanctioned to her for a period of one year.

 

 

6Ms. Payal Gupta

Wd/of Late Sh. Praveen Gupta, Advocate (D/2254/2008)

 

The applicant was not present. Her application be renotifed.

 

7Sh. Bharat Bhushan Dinkar, Advocate (D/915/1991)

 

The applicant is present. Heard. Application perused.  Applicant stated to have been operated upon and could not do practice from December to April, 2019 thereby suffering financially. Looking into the facts of the case, a sum of Rs.30,000/- be sanctioned to him.  His application, thus finally disposed off.

8Ms. Madhu Chaudhary

The application of Ms. Madhu Chaudhary was perused. After looking into the facts and circumstances, Members are of the view that a sum of Rs.5,000/- per month be sanctioned to her for a period of two years.

The application of Ms. Kapoori Devi was perused. After looking into the facts and circumstances, Members are of the view that a sum of Rs.5,000/- per month be sanctioned to her for a period of two years.

14Mr. Yogesh Kaushik, Advocate (D/3125/2001)

 

The applicant appeared before the Committee. He was heard. Application perused. A sum of Rs.5,000/- per month for a period of two years was sanctioned to him.

15Ms. Viniti Gaur

Wd/ of Late Sh. Nagender Kumar Gaur, Advocate (D/505/2004)

 

The applicant appeared before the Committee. She was heard. Application perused. A sum of Rs.5,000/- per month for a period of two year was sanctioned to her.  The application was thus finally disposed off.

16Sh. Babu Lal, Father of Late Sh. Ajay Kumar, Advocate (D/505/2004)

 

The applicant appeared before the Committee. He was heard. Application perused. A sum of Rs.5,000/- per month for a period of two years was sanctioned to him.

 

 

17Sh. Amar Nath, Advocate (D/1782/2004)

The applicant is present. Heard. Application perused. After hearing the applicant and looking into facts and circumstances, the members are of the view that a sum of Rs.5,000/- per month for a period of three years be sanctioned to him. He undertakes not to seek any further extension of financial help.  Application was thus finally disposed off.

18Sh. Ajay Kumar, Advocate (D/2866/2011)

 

The applicant appeared before the Committee. He was heard. Application perused. The applicant stated to be suffering from various deceases and is under dialysis. Looking into facts and circumstances of the applicant, a sum of Rs.5,000/- as financial help and also a sum of Rs.5,000/- as expenses for medicines, per month for a period of two years was sanctioned to him. However, the said sanctioned amount shall be deducted from the amount if sanctioned to him from the Advocates Welfare Fund where also his application is pending for disposal. The application was disposed off accordingly.

 

 

19Mr. Suraj Sharma

Younger brother of Sh.Vikram Sharma, Advocate (D/954/2003)

The application of Mr. Suraj Sharma Sharma was perused. After looking into the facts and circumstances, Members are of the view that Rs.2,500/- each for both children (Total Rs.5000/-) of Sh. Vikram Sharma be sanctioned for two years to be deposited in the bank account in the name of children.

 

 

20Sh. Ravinder Singh Sondhi, Advocate (D/251/1993)

The application of Sh. Ravinder Singh Sondhi was perused. After looking into the facts and circumstances, Members are of the view that a sum of Rs.5,000/- per month be sanctioned to him for a period of two years.

 

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
